SongPrompt for Sunday August 7th, 2016

Hi friends!

I hope you've had an awesome week, and that you're prepping for a great long weekend!
Since there will be no open mic at McGrady's this Sunday, July 31st, I wanted to give you a good, hearty #songprompt for Sunday August 7th, 2016.

Your assignment for Aug. 7th is to either write a song or learn a cover using one of the scariest things out there to guitarists, but also one of the most exciting and liberating... A CHORD THAT IS BRAND NEW TO YOU.

That's right... a chord you've never used before.

So pull out that old chord dictionary, or search for one online.

I'm really looking forward to hearing what you come up with.

Sunday August 7th should be a very rewarding night!

Play a story, win a story. It's another #perfectsunday #doubleshot!

This Sunday, June 26th, is another #perfectsunday #doubleshot!
This is going to be the best one yet! So many exciting things...

First off, I'll be playing 2 sets with my co-conspirator Jeff Haynes at everyone's favourite craft brewery, the Second Wedge Brewing Co. in Uxbridge.
2-4pm. We're thrilled to have the honey-voiced Tim Fors as our special guest opening act.

Then we head over to Col. McGrady's Pub, just up the street, for my weekly Sunday night Open Mic.
Sign up is at 5:30pm. We'll be starting the night off with a special FEATURE SET by Uxbridge's own super-uke duo of mass destruction,

The #songprompt theme of the night is: Story Songs.
Play a song along the theme, and earn a ticket for the draw Sunday night, which will be for a $25 Gift Card to
Canada's best bookstore- Blue Heron Books! Play a story, win a story. Excellent.

Hope to see y'all at both!

Sunday Open Mic, Father's Day Edition!

The #songprompt for tonight's Col. McGrady's Open Mic is:

Play a song along that theme tonight, and earn a ticket towards next Sunday's SongPrompt Draw
for a $25 gift-card to Blue Heron Books, twice voted Canada's best Bookstore!

Sign-up starts at 5:30pm. See ya then!

SongPrompts for June 2016

So sad that songwriting legend Guy Clark has passed away.
We'll be honouring his legacy of finely chiseled songs Sunday June 12th at Col. McGradys.

Here's the list of SongPrompts for the month of June, 2016, all ready to put up on yonder in-house refrigeration machine.

Looking forward to hearing what you come up with!

It's a Sunday Music Marathon

Sunday February 21st is going to be a wonderful one.

Jeff and I are the debut performers at Uxbridge's grand spanking new brewery, the awesome Second Wedge Brewing Co.

We'll be playing our eclectic blend of erotic, electronic Moroccan trance music and 16th century Germanic court minstrel music, from 2-4pm.

Then I'll be hop, skipping and jumping a couple hundred metres east, to host my weekly Sunday night Open Mic, at Colonel McGrady's pub.

The #SongPrompt theme is: Gone But Not Forgotten- Late Great Songwriters.

Hope to see you, pal!

The Times, They are a Changin'!

Starting tonight, the sign up for my Sunday Night Open Mic will begin at 5:30pm.
Music begins at 6pm. Sign up ends at 9pm, and the music ends at 9:30.

The SongPrompt Theme this week is a combo of Gillian Welch and Bob Dylan, due to the cancellation last week because of the crazy storm!
And there are some awesome prizes coming up, so stay tuned!

See you soon!
